You will need the following information before Google will consider making your Google maps listing live:
For Service Area Businesses, your video must:
Show where your business operates: To confirm your location, record street signs, nearby landmarks or other identifiers at your business address. Avoid filming empty land or locations without clear markers.
Tip: If you run a service-area business from your home, you can record landmarks and signs in your immediate neighbourhood to verify the address.
Show proof that your business exists: Show the professional tools, equipment or products that you use for work. This can include specialised machinery, your workspace, business cards or branded apparel worn by employees or customers.
Show proof of management: Prove that you manage or represent the business. Record yourself performing a service or accessing business-only assets, such as unlocking a van that has your business branding. You can also show business documents like a business permit, invoice or utility bill that matches the name on your Business Profile.
Submit your video
Step 1: Record and upload your video
Important: Plan what to show in your video. Make sure that it meets all the requirements listed above.Below 20mb and no longer than 1-2 min max
On your mobile device, go to your Business Profile.
Tap 'Get verified' Get verified icon.
To start verification, you may need to enter your phone number and then tap Next.
Tap Business video and then Next.
Read the video requirements.
You might be asked to allow access to your location, camera and microphone. To allow access, follow the on-screen instructions.
Tap Next and then Start recording.
To record your video, tap Start recording button.
To stop recording, tap Stop recording button.
To make sure that it shows all the required info, review your video.
If needed, tap Try again to re-record your video.
To upload your video, tap Upload video.
Step 2: Wait for review
After you upload your video, we’ll review it. This process can take up to five working days. After the review, the result can either be:
Successful: We'll let you know when your business is verified.
Not successful: Your video didn’t meet all the requirements. You can record a new one for verification. We’ll share the reasons why your first video wasn’t accepted.
If your video didn’t meet all the requirements, you can submit a new video:
On your mobile device, go to your Business Profile.
Tap Review issues.
To help you create a new video that meets all the requirements, review the issues.
Examples:
Business name not visible on the shop front.
No nearby area shown.
Missing proof of authorisation to operate the business.
Record your video.
Make sure to include:
All the info that you showed in your first video.
All the missing info needed to meet the requirements.
Upload your video.
Step 3 (optional): Delete your video
Important: You can delete your verification video at any time. If you don't, Google will delete it later. If you cancel the upload, both you and Google lose access to the video.
On your mobile device, go to your Business Profile.
At the top right, tap More and then Business Profile settings and then Advanced settings.
Under 'Video uploads' and then tap Delete videos
You can still show the place where you provide services, the tools that you use and documents associated with your business.
Examples of location:
Street name and building number
Business signs near your service area
Examples of equipment:
A branded vehicle or marketing items
Your workspace, tools or equipment that you use at work
Examples of documents:
Business permit, invoice or utility bill
Other documents that show your business name
